Comfortable Room varried buffet breakfast
Sudden scalding by shower, strong chlorine smell in lobby, people dressed in bath robes in breakfast room.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel , The staff were excellent , the room was comfortable and clean and the food we had was very good and presented well
the room &ensuite were of a good size liked choice of bath or shower.
The hotel was clean and the staff efficient. The location was good for exploring Cambridge and surrounds.
Too geared to corporate events for what we wanted
Friendly helpful staff. Food excellent and very well stocked breakfast buffett. Spa facilities made a relaxing break. Half an hour bus journey into Cambridge city centre saved having to drive into the city.
Could do with a clock in the room.
Hotel rooms need updating poor tv poor breakfast staff helpfull but poor English
The hotel was easy to find the hotel was quiet at night (between room and from the outside).
There was no fridge in the room so you could not keep anything cold. They also has a policy about alcohol only being drunk if purchased on the premises. If you had not booked ahead for meals it was difficult to get into the restaurant - the bar however offered a limited selection.
We enjoyed very much our stay-Good Breakfast -Parking facilities-
Perhaps the size of the swimming pool might be larger
The room was a disabled room which was not requested no walk in shower as specified. Shower was over the back but to shower curtain or screen making it unusable. Plug in the washhand basin was too big hence we couldnt use it. Heating in room was very poor the heating was on full and still no heat and the system was very loud so lack of sleep. Chipped cups at breakfast not acceptable for a 4* hotel.
Rooms were good and bed comfortable, good house cleaning staff. Free wifi which is a pleasure.
Food was pretty ordinary - sounded much better on the menu than it was in reality!
Not being informed their was a Wedding party disco on loudly.
The general appearance seemed "drab" walls have scuff marks on the bedroom had a couple of stains on the carpets. It needs an internal repaint
proximity to cambridge comfortable in every sense
some communal furniture appeared dirty, mainly because of colour. bar tables etc. were sticky no fridge in room
Good location and plenty of parking
Staff on the first day were very poor, my feeling was they were badly managed. The young managers seemed more interested in the young female staff than sorting out the running of the hotel ! On the second day the Management changed and things seemed a lot more organised. Food was not good for a 4* hotel and in general I would have expected more for this category. The rooms were adequate, I had a superior, but the decor was rather "tired" and for some reason the bed was not made up but the room and bathroom had been cleaned. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends. In conclusion the management need to get in ther eand kick some a*** as the Americans would say !!!
Very clean and quiet, with excellent restaurant. Even though a conference was in full swing the two days we were there, the layout of the hotel is such that individual guests such as ourselves were not inconvenienced. We have stayed at the Cambridge Belfry before and will certainly do so again.
